Former starting CB Tim Jennings had his contract terminated as the Chicago Bears trimmed the roster to 76 players on Sunday. The Bears need to make at least one additional move, presuming they don’t pick up additional players via a trade or waivers, by Tuesday to get down to the NFL mandated 75 players.

Jennings appeared to be in line for a nickel back role under new head coach John Fox and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, but after seeing early action with the starting units in camp, his playing time began to shrink. In Saturday evening’s 21-10 preseason loss to the Bengals, Jennings was relegated to the second and third units, seeing action in mop up time long after the first team had left the field.
