Bears promote Safety Cattouse to roster

The Chicago Bears made a minor roster move today to add depth to a secondary that could be without starter Major Wright on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Chicago Bears elevated S Sean Cattouse (cuh-TOOS) to the active roster from the practice squad and waived DT Tracy Robertson.

The 6-2, 210-pound Cattouse entered the NFL with San Diego in 2012 as an undrafted free agent out of the University of California, appearing in one game for the Chargers. He has been on the Bears practice squad the last eight weeks.The Chicago native and Hubbard High School alum was a three-time All-Pac-10/12 selection that played in 49 games with 26 starts for Cal (2008-11), recording 185 tackles, seven interceptions, 17 pass breakups, seven tackles for losses, two sacks and two fumble recoveries.

Cattouse will wear No. 36.

Robertson was released after dressing for last week’s contest at St. Louis but not participating. He had been on the Bears practice squad previously.
